Places to Work in Palma De Mallorca for Digital Nomads

I spent the last week in Palma de Mallorca, Spain and was pleasantly surprised that it was relatively nomad friendly. In off season, Airbnb’s are plentiful and cheap and there are not too many tourists around. Not to mention, I got a plane ticket for 7€ each way from Berlin on RyanAir. Including carry on bags was only an extra 10€. I’d consider it a nice sunny getaway for a working freelancer during the winter.

Below you’ll find a list of places I personally visited and verified the status of working wifi and wall plugs. I found them all nice places to work for an hour or two, while enjoying a coffee or tapa.

Carpe Diem

A charming local cafe, this place was bustling with activity yet holds many places to sit both inside and outside. Wifi was readily available, while outlets were a bit trickier to find.

Carrer Foners, 25, 07006 Palma, Illes Balears, Spain

This cafe was probably my favorite out of all the places I visited. Outlets and wifi were plentiful, as was a variety of seating. There is even a kids play area. The staff was really friendly and spoke multiple languages. I enjoyed breakfast and coffee here and was able to work comfortably for a few hours.

This was a super cute cafe and gastronomic shop, ideal for a coffee and pastry stop. Wifi was good. I did not look for outlets there. There was a good amount of seating.

Cafe Plaça

This quaint cafe had a bright interior, and pretty great Sangria. The wifi was good and there were outlets available inside the cafe. I wouldn’t order any food there, just drinks. You could easily spend 2 hours there on your laptop.

In the main Starbucks in the center of town, outlets and seating are plentiful. If you’re there to work, you could easily spend a few hours there comfortably seated. It’s worth mentioning though that the USB wall plugs had a very low current, or at least the one I used did. Secondly, if you are doing high bandwidth work or video calls, the wifi here is not suitable. I was not able to use Skype or Dropbox on the network connection here.
