Hotel Parque México in Condesa, Mexico City Review

By

The Hotel Parque Mexico is a beautiful boutique hotel, with every square foot of this place giving off an artisanal vibe. There are colorful  pieces ofMexican art everywhere; from the floor tiles, to the handmade furniture, to the wonderfully decorated lobby. Even the facade is a rich indigo purple color, which can be spotted easily from afar.

We booked our room in the off season on Airbnb, which came out to a great deal at $34 USD/night for seven nights. The room itself was small, but we enjoyed our time there. Rooms have small a kitchenette, a bathroom, a hairdryer, dresser with desk inside, a bed, etc. It’s important to note that there are no televisions in any of the rooms. This did not bother us that much, as we were out and about most days and did not need to spend much time in front of the TV.

Hotel Parque México is situated in Condesa – one of the best neighborhoods in Mexico City. As the name suggests, the hotel is right alongside a beautiful large, quiet park which really adds to it’s charm. The excellent safe location provides an easy calm walk to many great bars, restaurants and boutiques.

The park itself became a daily staple in our day. There were lots of vendors there selling elotes, esquites, ice cream and fruit. On the weekends were performances, people hanging out and enjoying their day, and even dogs for adoption! We hopped on a trolley at the park for a short tour of the neighborhood for $60 pesos each. Though the hotel has bikes available to borrow, the park itself also offers bikes for rent.

On the top floor of the hotel, there is a lovely rooftop bar and cafe where we were able to sit and do client work. We found the staff here and at the front desk to be gracious and friendly. The front desk helped us book a tour to the Teotihuacan pyramids and even helped us out in a bind when another Airbnb reservation fell through.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here – the location and peaceful surrounding area make up for lack of great internet and TV. The internet connection would be fine for the average traveler, we needed a better connection as we are traveling freelancers with client work. I would recommend Hotel Parque México to travelers seeking a short peaceful getaway in Mexico City!
